1. The festival is for amateurs except for open classes.
2. All ages calculated as of August 31st 2026 unless a year group is stipulated. That's the one you're in from September 2026.
3. Open classes means there is no age limit.
4. No competitor may enter more than 2 solo classes in any one section except in the strings. If you play a cell

4. No competitor may enter more than 2 solo classes in any one section except in the strings. If you play a cello for example you may enter 2 classes for that as well as a couple of classes for harp or guitar.
5. ALL ENTRIES SHOULD BE MADE ONLINE.
6. Entry fees to be submitted by BACS straight after entering.
7. A copy of your piece to be given to the adjudicator.
8. You can't enter the same piece in two classes.
9. Time limits to be strictly observed.

1. Ifyour music requires it you should have an accompanist. It's your responsibility to arrange and pay for one and a list of possible people are in the syllabus.
2. Backing tracks are allowed for some classes and are clearly shown in the syllabus.
3. Music stands for soloists are provided. For duets and larger groups please bring your own.

1.All items presented should be suitable for a family audience.
2. No help, coaching or mouthing of words from the audience please.
3. No scripts EXCEPT for prose reading.
4. Please keep props to a minimum. A table and chair will be available.
5. There's no need to wear a costume but if you'd like to that's OK.

The use of audio or visual recorders including still and video cameras or phones is strictly prohibited.
Full adherance to our safeguaring policy must be observed.
The committee reserves the right to seek permission to take photos but absolutely no child will be named on this website or on social media.

We are very grateful for the many trophies which have been donated to our festival over the years.
Trophies are awarded to those competitors who receive 85 marks or more and win their class.
Unfortunately there are not enough trophies for every class and therefore are allocated to those classes with a number of competitors.

ALL TROPHIES ARE ON LOAN FOR A YEAR AND MUST BE CARED FOR, CLEANED AND RETURNED BY THE GIVEN DATE IN THE SYLLABUS. AN E MAIL REMINDER WILL BE SENT.
